Jenufa
Waiti
Jenufa is a self taught Dunedin artist, and is not afraid to be experimental with her art and materials. She is well known for her vibrant and emotive use of colour and often uses a wide variety of materials in her work.
Her involvement in sculptural practice has spanned over 15 years and has resulted in several awards during this time – including a finalist WOW (World of Wearable Art) award. Jenufa has also been exhibiting as a painter for a number of years. The diversity, affordability and creative elements of Jenufa’s artwork have found numerous admirers throughout the country.
Gallery De Novo has represented Jenufa since October 2008 and her works have proven to be very popular in this time. Included in her 2010 show were canvas paintings – four of which were works of still life with a dedication, and recognition, to notable international artists such as Sydney Nolan, Milton Avery and Mary Fedden.
