The Artists:

Kees Meeuws and David Burke collaborated on the concept, design, drawing and then the final prints, which are printed on quality matt black card

A graduate from Otago School of Art, David has 20 years experience in art, design and advertising and is now based in Auckland. Kees is best known as a former All Black and Otago Rugby player. He too has always had a strong interest in and talent for art, although has never really made it public knowledge.


The Work:

The work is about whanau, ancestry, warriors, the union of mind and spirit and our land, Aotearoa. For the artists’ statement about each work, please see below.

Gallery De Novo is pleased to have available these limited edition prints. The detail and quality finish of these silver prints on black is striking and the work catches the light beautifully.

The works are printed with archival quality inks which provide better print accuracy than other means of reproduction and the image size of each print is 385 x 510mm.


Cost and Availability:

The Kees Meeuws and David Burke prints are NZD$450 each - which includes framing with a black box frame. The prints are also available unframed for NZD$300 each. These works can be purchased individually or as a whole set.

Within the first two weeks, well over 30 prints sold, so please contact the gallery direct for edition numbers that are available.

For quotes of postage cost to your part of the world, contact the gallery. As a guide, postage to England for one unframed print is NZD$70 - including packaging and insurance.
