Keith Reed
Keith Reed was born in England and emigrated to New Zealand in 1954. He attended school in Dunedin and held his first exhibition at the age of sixteen in which 45 of the 60 works were sold.
From the early 1960s Keith held many exhibitions throughout the South Island and in 1968 attained his Diploma of Fine Arts from the Canterbury School of Fine Arts.
In 1969, Keith began teaching and after a years leave of absence in 1974 to gain inspiration from overseas returned to develop a successful career as an artist. In 1996, Fishers Fine Arts of Christchurch sponsored Keith on a study trip to England, France, USA and Italy. As a result, his paintings now show a variety of influences inspired by this trip.
He is regarded as one of New Zealand’s leading watercolourists with works sold throughout Australasia and USA.
