Nathan
was born in Palmerston, East Otago and brought up in Dunedin.
He was educated at Kings High School and went on to the
University of Otago.
Nathan
describes his painting style as very anti-mainstream, choosing
to express his ideas through the use of spray paint, markers,
pencils, acrylic and some collage.
He
is inspired by graffiti, stencils, graphic design, abstract
and neo-expressionism and is influenced by artists such
as: Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Having, Robert Rauschenberg,
Jasper Johns and Ralph Hotere.
Nathan
has been exhibiting his work through the Cleveland Living
Arts Centre since 2000, and has also had success selling
in Auckland through the Original Art Sale since 2005. His
unique work is creating a lot of interest from a wide mix
of clients including first time art buyers and established
collectors of art.
