The Wild Dunedin Festival starts this week and we are thrilled to be showing Janet de Wagt’s exhibition ‘Dunedin to Dunedin via the Sub Antarctic’ inspired by her recent voyage aboard Ponant Explorations’ Le Soléal. The journey traced a passage through New Zealand’s remote Subantarctic islands, including the Snares, Ulva, Auckland, and Campbell Islands.
Renowned for her plein air practice, de Wagt is accustomed to working directly with the landscape in all conditions.
The journey formed part of the Arts Aboard residency, in partnership with the Southland Art Foundation.
